Dhana Dal or Dhaniya Dal or Roasted Coriander seeds are very good seeds to eat after food. It gives refreshing taste and clears bad odor in mouth. It helps in digestion and proper absorption of nutritions in the food. It is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory in nature, and hence, consuming dhana dal after meals have many medicinal benefits like it helps in insomnia, indigestion.

Dhana Dal or Roasted coriander leaves are prepared by roasting coriander seeds with a little salt. People use this to beat bad breath. 1. Great aid in Digestion: Dhana dal improves your digestion very soon. According to a study published in the Indian Journal of Pharmacology, some of the compounds found in coriander seeds like linalool and borneol aid in digestion and regulate bowel movements. Compounds found in Coriander seeds can help in the proper secretion of digestive juices and enzymes that assist in the smooth running of the digestive system. It is very helpful in curing diarrhoea.

Good for boosting Imunity: Coriander is a powerful herb packed with various phytonutrients and vitamins, ingesting some dhana dal after food can be an excellent way to improve our immune system. High in antibacterial and antifungal properties, coriander seeds is exactly what you need when it comes to preventing your body from infections. Also, it has lot of zinc to boost your immune system. Dhana dal partially saves us from food poisoning also, if at all we had some rotten food. 

3. A great Mouth Freshner: Dhana dal has a chemical compound named Citronellol, is good to freshen your breath up, suggests a study published in the Journal of Oral Diseases. It is antiseptic in nature and can keep wounds and ulcers in the mouth from worsening. It helps get rid of bacteria that causes bad breath and also soothe infected gums.

 Usage

Dosage: One teaspoon or say 4-5 gms of roasted dhana dal after meals is generally perfect for adults. Children aged between 7-12 can have half teaspoon.
