Bael is an exceptional fruit. All the parts of the plant from the leaves, seeds, trunks, roots, and fruit are used for various health-related purposes. In fact, the fruit is also used in perfumes at times. Bael is also known as maredu, bilum, bela, koovalam, sriphala, baela, vael, wood apple, Bengal quince, bilva. It is also one of the ten herbs of 'Dashmoola' and considers to be one of the top pain-relieving herbs. Bael includes compounds like flavonoids, coumarins, tannins.
